Last month for my husband’s birthday, I decided to experiment with his cake and make a cake with a combination of ideas I’d seen on Pinterest. My inspiration comes from here, here, and here.
My husband loves peanut butter cups, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies (and so do I), so I thought this cake would be perfect!
It’s pretty simple to make and here’s how you do it:
1. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper and spread a batch of your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe (I use the recipe on the back of the bag) on the bottom.
The cake was very yummy and very rich! I think next time I make it I will leave off the frosting and peanut butter cups on top and just make them as brownie/cookie bars.
That looks so yummy! That’s a great idea for a birthday cake, and it looks easy to make as well.
Mmmmmm…..I’ve made the cupcake version of these. I’d have to try it with the frosting though. Homemade chocolate buttercream is hard to resist.
That looks so delicious! I’m a definite peanut butter lover. I’m your new follower from http://playdoughandpuzzles.blogspot.com/

This sounds yummy Sarah, we wii have to make it soon!
I’ve made this before too only the recipe I used called for oreos…but I am much more of a peanut butter and chocolate girl so I’m thinking the bars you mentioned would be perfect. Or even individual cupcake size servings 🙂
I’m not even a dessert person and I am wanting to devour my computer screen! This looks so delicious!
Oh my! I will definitely have to pin this one. Looks so yummy!
Sarah, oh my goodness! I am SO making these and soon! Thanks for linking up with “Try a New Recipe Tuesday!” I hope you will be able to join us again this week! http://our4kiddos.blogspot.com/2013/05/try-new-recipe-tuesday-may-21.html Many blessings, Lisa 🙂
Oh Wow! That looks amazing! I’m not sure how this is going to work with my “lose the baby weight plan!” 🙂
