Jesus Calling by Sarah Young quickly became my favorite devotional after my mother gave it to me as a gift. Its daily devotions are short, yet profound and encouraging – perfect for me, a busy mom, to fit into my mornings and think on and pray about throughout my day.
I had recently been looking for a devotional to read with my kids in the morning, and since I have enjoyed the Jesus Calling devotional so much, I looked into the Jesus Calling kids edition.
The Lord blessed me a couple of days later with the opportunity from Tommy Nelson, to review Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids – Deluxe Edition, and to bless one of you by giving one away to one of my readers!
The deluxe edition of Jesus Calling for kids is really nice! Its hardcover is leather soft with an adorable blue bird on the cover. And the pages are bold and rich with color.
But the thing I like the most about this devotional is that the daily readings correspond to the adult version, allowing my kids and I to focus on the same scriptures and spiritual themes. When I get up in the morning, I read the daily devotion from my book and then I read the kids one aloud during breakfast time and we discuss the reading together. Although this book is geared toward the tween crowd (ages 7-12), it is easily adaptable to the younger crowd when read aloud and discussed.
The devotional contains a devotion for everyday of the year, with each one beginning with a title and a scripture and ending with a related Bible passage to read on your own.
This new deluxe edition will make a perfect gift for any child in your family this Christmas {I’m getting my niece one!}
